“Well, there were two schools…the white children went there, but we had the same they had… And we all played together because there wasn’t nobody else to play with. They’d play with us, we’d play with them. We didn’t go to the same school, but we had the same books, she furnished all the books, paper and everything, you went to school, it didn’t rain or snow and I could walk to school.
