"A Christmas Memory" Returns to Reynolda House Museum of American Art

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (December 1, 2008) — A holiday tradition returns to Reynolda House Museum of American Art in December. Robin Voiers will appear in "A Christmas Memory" on Saturday, December 13 at 5 p.m. A favorite with families, the play is recommended for children age 10 and above.

Now in its 21st year as part of the holiday festivities at Reynolda House, "A Christmas Memory" began as a short story by Truman Capote. Born in New Orleans in 1924, Capote's parents divorced when he was four. He lived with relatives in Monroeville, Alabama for several years before moving to New York. Largely autobiographical, "A Christmas Memory" relates a southern writer's poignant remembrances of Christmas traditions shared with his beloved cousin, Sook, during the Great Depression.

Robin Voiers is well known to Winston-Salem theater audiences. Her performances with the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, the Winston-Salem Little Theatre, the Winston-Salem Theatre Alliance, and her one-woman shows are highly acclaimed. She has appeared at Reynolda House in "The Belle of Amherst," "Zelda," and "Isadora." Her performance is directed by William Voiers.
