WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (September 30, 2008) Reynolda House Museum of American Art has received a $7,926 grant from the J. C. Tise Fund of The Winston-Salem Foundation in support of Seeing Our City: The Art of Defining a Place, a series of free public forums the museum will host on October 9, 16, and 23, 2008.
Reynolda House is using its fall exhibition, "Seeing the City: Sloan's New York," as a springboard for the forums. Seeing Our City will focus on discussions about Winston-Salem, efforts to develop and revitalize downtown, and plans for the future of the city.
Each forum will feature a nationally recognized guest speaker and a panel of state and local civic leaders. The public is encouraged to participate in the discussions. Information about Seeing Our City is available on the Reynolda House Web site, reynoldahouse.org.
